When Shana Hoy, senior event manager for Husch Blackwell, reached out for support, her goal was clear: to design an offsite company Boulder Retreat that fostered connection, collaboration, and fun. Following the pandemic, the real estate attorneys at Husch Blackwell had gone through layoffs and new hires. Many employees were still working remotely and had never met in person. Shana wanted to create an environment where the 50 team members could strengthen relationships, recharge, and celebrate teamwork outside of the office.
A Curated Two-Day Experience
Colorado Corporate Escapes delivered a thoughtfully designed two-day adventure that showcased Boulder’s charm while encouraging authentic team bonding. The retreat began with a scenic bike and brews tour, where colleagues pedaled through Boulder’s picturesque landscapes and enjoyed local craft beer. The group then slowed down for a forest bathing session with a certified therapist, providing a unique way to relax and reconnect with nature.
An afternoon tea at Boulder’s Dushanbe Teahouse offered a cultural twist, combining vibrant flavors with meaningful conversations. These activities set the tone for a retreat that blended wellness, adventure, and camaraderie.

No retreat is complete without time to unwind and celebrate. For dinner, the team gathered on the terrace at St Julien, accompanied by live music from a local band. The evening continued with a lively trivia competition at Avanti, sparking friendly competition and laughter. The next morning, optional yoga sessions gave participants the chance to recharge before diving back into work with fresh energy.
